Calvin & Lewis

No, this is not going to be a comic rip-off of Calvin and Hobbes. Christians are great at mimicry. Find out where art and culture are going and then create a sanitized and safe version of it four years later. Harmless but not really helpful. Actually, harmful. Perhaps in the worst way because it is no longer REAL.

Denatured, un-natural, weird. Grape juice rather than wine....

Quite odd for a people that used to turn the world upside down. Christian rap artists. Most goofy. With little skill. Really? Might have pew cred...not street. Rap needs to be confrontational, prophetic, if it is going to fit the genre. For good or bad, it has to cut. But, cut it must. Yet, I digress or regress. Or something.

Finishing up on a year of devotionals from John Calvin. Quite necessary and in my face. Pure deduction and derivative from the Bible. Doctrinal. Calvin is mostly indisputable. Since he based his writings on what the Bible taught, hard to contest. Skeletal and structural. But, now moving into C.S. Lewis for a year. Imaginative and inductive, doctrine dancing. Some questionable speculations but mostly Bible-worthy. Too many want to compromise biblical teaching these days....another audience all too willing to not allow doctrine to move us to dreaming and doing. Like the Kingdom of God is some type of SAT. Sharpen ye pencils. Get the right answers.

Begin with Calvin. Break your mind and will. End with Lewis. Build it back and let it fly.
