Just Do It

I had an interesting conversation with a guy at Wine and Food pairing on Friday night about a program about Nike on MSNBC (Me at a wine and food pairing? I am turning into quite the dainty. I have come along way from drinking beer and eating a pile of scrambled eggs at the end of the night). Here is a link to the program.

After I tracked down the video, I was especially interested in the "Just Do It" ad campaign piece.

As the promo states, "It took a quirky ad agency whiz, Dan Wieden, to convince Phil Knight that advertising could propel Nike to a global success. Popular and sometimes controversial ads featuring the top names in sports - Jordan, Woods, Barkley - helped Nike conquer the sports world. "

The ad guy was searching for a slogan to unite, and lace together like a sneaker, Nike's first major and diverse ad campaign. The rest, as they say, is history. Makes me wonder, when considering the life of Jonah, if we make things much more complicated that they need to be.
What does God requires of us to do?

Micah 6:8

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

More to follow tomorrow on maybe why we "Just Don't Always Do It" in the Church.
